ZoricaI am an artist, illustrator and florist. I grew up in Hamilton, Ontario but I currently reside in Hagersville. In 2002, I graduated from the Interpretive Illustration program at Sheridan College. In 2009, I completed the Competency in French Certificate at Mohawk College. Mon fran├žais n’est pas le meilleur, mais j’essaie!

I am an active member of the Women’s Art Association of Hamilton and an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists.

Inspired by a variety of things, such as nature, people, architecture, animals and fairy tales, my paintings reflect my love for colour and storytelling. My media of choice are acrylics and watercolours.

Artist Statement

I have always been captivated by art. I love how it can evoke a wide range of emotions that can linger and mesmerize. I am amazed at how the use of subject matter, composition, technique and colour elicit feelings. That reaction is what enchants me and draws me to art.

When I paint, I apply those simple yet powerful tools to create my own beguiling piece of art. I especially love the use of colour and I take great pleasure in using pure hues. My inspiration is varied and can be as colourful as my paintings. Nature, people, places, architecture, animals and fairy tales are some of my favourite sources of creative inspiration.

Ultimately when I create, I strive to give the viewer an experience, especially a surprising one.
